How can I join?

To apply for the YEC, you must:
  • be a South Australian student in Year 7-11
  • have permission from a parent/guardian
  • have endorsement from a supportive teacher or Principal (e.g. the schools needs to be comfortable with you representing them)
  • understand the expectations of the role of a member and agree to these.
YEC members will be expected to:
  • attend all face-to-face events (i.e. the Welcome Forum, Sustainability Camp and Sharing & Celebration Day)
  • organise their own transport to and from events (travel for regional students can be subsidised, with members reimbursed after attending the event)
  • work on a sustainability project of their choice, taking action in their school/community
  • maintain communication with YEC staff (and other members where appropriate) throughout the year via emails, forums, events etc
  • have fun, give things a go, be open to new experiences, and bring good vibes to the council.

Each year, the YEC has a limited number of places available.
Students from regional areas are encouraged to apply.
